IMMERSIVE MEDIA

Immersive film making is an incredible way for viewers to experience and interact with people and ideas. With the rising popularity of extended reality through the use of the XR headsets and mobile devices, it is now easier than ever for an audience to feel the presence of a performance or scene through immersive media.

AYIA ‘Easy’

To create a unique visual style representing the point of view of a mysterious monolith, director Salomon Lighthelm and VFX house Artjail required volumetric performances of the actors and dancers on location. This allowed them to match and intercut performances and environments through both filmic and digitized perspectives.

The Ancient Narrative - Adam and Eve - the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil - the Forbidden Fruit - that Tempting Icon. The promise of connection and transcendence. But it’s a mirage at best - corrupting and distorting - yet with unknowable power over us - in it’s attraction and it’s promise of how it might enrich our lives. It’s a bad replica - and today with everything that’s happening around us, we are extremely aware of its deficiencies - it’s inability to replace the REAL. What we crave - it can’t fully give us. Connection and transcendence has to be experienced in the seen, felt and heard of real human contact. Produced By...... All Expanded, Section80 Executive Produced By...... As part of this year's Cannes Lions, we worked with the team at Procter & Gamble to produce two VR projects that highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion within the creative industry. The first of two projects, which have female directors and diverse teams, 'Drip Drop.'

DRIP DROP

Made in collaboration with Chromista and Novelab, the experience reveals the stories of four individuals who didn’t “see themselves” in the creative industry, yet took action to great effect. The experience begins in a mysterious void where digitized versions of four people are floating. Viewers can bring each person to life by blinking, thus prompting an interview describing the adversity each has faced in the creative community.
